2. Description of Service

OpenPrism is an AI-powered scientific writing platform that helps researchers create, edit, and format academic documents in LaTeX and Typst. The service includes AI assistance, bibliography management, and document compilation.

3. User Accounts

To use OpenPrism, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. API Keys and Billing

OpenPrism operates on a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) model. You are responsible for:

  • Providing your own API keys for AI services (e.g., OpenRouter)
  • All charges incurred through your API keys
  • Keeping your API keys secure

We are not responsible for any charges from third-party AI providers.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Generate content that violates third-party rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Use automated means to access the service without permission
  • Share your account with others

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain all rights to the documents and content you create using OpenPrism. We do not claim ownership of your work.

Our Service

OpenPrism and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. AI-Generated Content

Content generated by AI through our service is provided "as is." You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated content.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

OpenPrism is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The service is free of viruses or harmful components
  • AI-generated content is accurate or suitable for your purposes

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenPrism shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the settings page. Upon termination, your right to use the service will cease immediately.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the service. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
